Project Manager - Business Intelligence, ETL
Responsibilities
Our client is seeking a Project Manger in Long Beach, California (CA).
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage project development from beginning to end
- Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
- Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis
- Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
- Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary
- Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company
- Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle
- Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
- Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
- Track project milestones and deliverables
Requirements
The successful Project Manager will meet the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise):
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent experience
- Broad knowledge of IT functions and SDLC required
- Knowledge of the key components of project management (e.g., scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communication, risk, integration) and associated tools and methodologies
- General knowledge and ability to apply business practices in the context of project management activities
- Able to identify issues, impacts and implications of events to a project and recommend alternatives to resolve issues
- Able to apply sound judgment in highly ambiguous situations in unstructured environments
- Agile and Scrum process experience a plus
- Demonstrated technical knowledge in Business Intelligence, ETL processing, reporting, and analytics highly desirable
- Demonstrated strong customer focus and client relationship building skills.
- Experience working in a large scale IT shared services environment preferred
- Ability to carry out administrative management responsibilities such as weekly status meetings, weekly status reports and financial updates
