Purpose

• Flextronics Automotive, part of our High Reliability Solutions business unit, utilizes our strengths in electronics manufacturing services (EMS) and original design and manufacturing (ODM), offers a wide selection of customer-centric solutions for the automotive industry. We are also focused on providing dedicated end-to-end solutions to the global automotive market. Our international presence allows customers to utilize operations in the Americas, Asia and Europe, including services from low-cost regions for cost-effective alternatives and competitive pricing.
• We have a complete portfolio of ODM solutions that includes a high degree of customization. Our vertically integrated service offerings include design, tooling, plastics molding, metal fabrication, rigid and flex printed circuit boards, electronics assembly, test and validation, repair and refurbishment and logistics.
• We are continuously growing and broadening our world-class EMS expertise in the automotive market for lighting and interior, power electronics, connectivity, and EMS, and have over 15 years of experience in TS 16949 compliant manufacturing. Flextronics provides a fast time-to-market approach by taking advantage of the synergies between the highly efficient EMS environment and robust automotive processes.

• Direct and control the activities of broad functional area through several senior Design & Engineering managers involved in activities such as designing, developing, modifying and evaluating integrated circuitry for automotive electronic components and systems
• Partner with other leaders to establish objectives and action plans
• Ensure the development of Design & Engineering solutions for the automotive industry covering a wide range of products and volume mixes for OEM and Tier 1 customers.
• Ensure budget, schedules and performance indicators meet corporate guidelines
• Provide technical and strategic guidance to subordinate directors to ensure achievement of goals and objectives
• Develop and continuously improve methods, systems and processes in a complex and rapidly changing environment to improve customer satisfaction
• Organize and lead reviews to ensure projects are delivered on time, as per cost targets and within quality specifications
• Partner with Operations leaders to ensure Engineering & Design activities are well integrated with manufacturing operations including the use of Design for Manufacturability principles.
• Implement appropriate HR Strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce

Required (must-have) Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related field. MS or MBA preferred
• 15+ years automotive electronics experience. Most recently as a VP/ Chief Engineer with an OEM or Tier 1 supplier.
• Must have experience managing a global engineering team.
