Quality Inspector - Fasteners

Description

Nova Machine Products, is a technology-focused manufacturer of high-end precision fasteners for power generation applications, primarily focused on the nuclear power industry. We are currently looking to fill the role of a Quality Control Inspector.

Duties Will Include

Performing precision inspections on a variety of fabricated or purchased parts or finished products using standard and special purpose measuring tools, instruments and equipment. Determines methods, sequences and procedures necessary for inspection. Maintains quality records in accordance with ISO 9001.

Will also need to be able to work from drawings, sketches and specifications where general data and procedures are provided which may require some interpretation. Ensure that fabricated / purchased parts or finished products meet design specifications, and possess the ability to interpret technical and military specifications.

Will inspect parts from first piece through assembly or prototype phases for conformance with design specifications and perform calculations to determine angles, tolerances, dimensions and other measurements in accordance with engineering specifications and other quality requirements.

Skills/Education Required

• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in use of hand- held measuring equipment, and optical comparator
• Process driven, self-motivated with a desire to continuously learn.
• Knowledge of basic manufacturing parts.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge andsomeunderstanding of GD&T.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Must comply with applicable ISO / ASME procedures and Safety regulations.
• Must be familiar with the requirements of and comply with 10CFR21.
