Our Grant and Contract Accounting department has an outstanding opportunity for aWeb Application Developer (Limited Term Appointment)The individual in this posiiton is responsible for the design, development, testing, and documentation of web-based and client/server software environment using .Net, JavaScript, XML, Web Services (Rest) and SQL. The successful candidate will have the ability to work alone or in a team environment to accomplish assigned tasks and possess a strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and modifying complex, custom built web applications.

  • Develop reports and present data for special projects as assigned.
    • Design, develop and support programs to extract, transform and load (ETL) data between systems.

  • Write/debug complex SQL, stored procedures, scripts, and SSIS / DTS using MS SQL Server.
    • Delivers assignments according to a schedule.

  • Perform detailed software code reviews with other .NET software developers.
  • Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, plus two years of relevant experience.

  • Visual Studio .NET (2008, 2010), NET Framwork (2, 3, 3.5, 4.0), C#, VB, ASP.NET, AJAX, Web Service (REST), HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MVC, XML.
    • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (Transact-SQL, Stored Procedures, UDF, SSIS).

  • Knowledge and experience using reporting software, such as SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services (SSRS) and Microsoft Office 2007 (Access, Excel, Word). The ability to link the reports to various data sources.
    • Knowledge and experience developing system requirements, specifications, and documentation.

  • Experience working on a team to complete projects.
    • Demonstrated excellence in client interaction, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a cooperative effort.
  • Desired

    • Knowledge of grant and contract accounting.

  • Knowledge of LEAN process improvement theory and methodology.
    • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies

  • TDD (Test Driven Development)
