Responsible for general cleaning and floor buffing or vacuuming, carpeting in corridors and public areas, and following the predetermined schedule prepared by the Supervisor.

Stripping, refinishing, shower scrubbing floors; vacuums, spot cleans, and completes shampooing/extraction of carpets; makes beds for a scheduled number of residents on a daily basis as requested/required and performs checkout cleaning, as required.

Requirements

PREVIOUS EXPIERENCE WITH FLOORCLEANING, BUFFINGand CARPET CLEANINGMACHINES A MUST.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to walking and standing for prolong periods of time; and frequently stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls, pushes, pulls, grasps and feels. The employee frequently is required to use manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination when handling cleaning equipment. The employee is subject to lifting and/or moves up to 30 pounds on a reoccurring basis. The employee is required to have corrected vision and hearing within normal range. Occupational exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases, or other potentially infectious substances may be reasonably anticipated from the performance of duties (Category III). Frequent exposure to cleaning agents and disinfectants. Occasional exposure to cleaning agents and disinfectants. Healthcare and residential environment.

Must be able to read and write legibly in English. Must be able to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures. Must be able to verbally communicate information to customers and other employees. Previous housekeeping experience (i.e. use of equipment, machinery, cleaning procedures and methods) required. Work schedule may include working mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
