This position may be located in Vicksburg, MS or Portland, OR.
The primary goal of the Army Corps of Engineer - IT (ACE-IT) VoIP Operations Team is to troubleshoot and maintain the USACE Cisco Voice infrastructure while maintaining the ACE-IT enterprise standards.
- VoIP Engineer supports all Cisco Voice devices that are currently in use by USACE customers. Devices include Voice Gateways, ATAs, FXS/FXO cards, Call Manager, Unity and other analog and digital devices.
- Communications for PRI's and other analog lines will require troubleshooting and coordination of efforts with multiple telecommunication companies.
- Use of Monitoring Tools for monitoring the VoIP infrastructure. Monitoring tools are used to observe up/down notifications for devices and remote site connectivity. In the event a device fails, it is under the responsibility of the VoIP engineer to configure and replace the failed device. The engineer will work through the RMA process and guidelines based on contract with our vendor.
