Job Description This position is responsible for managing and implementing the equipment seismic qualification program at Salem Generating Station. Maintains and defends equipment seismic qualification program, provides requirements for equipment qualification, reviews seismic equipment test reports, and assists resolving issues. Additionally, performs structural/seismic design analysis for equipment, equipment supports, concrete structures, steel structures, and systems in nuclear power facilities. Performs dynamic seismic analyses. Understands seismic soil-structure interaction analyses of nuclear facility structures. Prepares calculations and reports documenting engineering analyses. Perform walkdowns to verify as-built conditions and confirm modification scope. Prepares and reviews plant configuration packages in accordance with plant procedures. The successful candidate will also perform other assigned duties as determined by the Salem Mechanical/Structural Design Engineering Manager. The successful candidate will also be assigned duties In the Emergency Response Organization.
REQUIRED: BS Degree in Engineering or related Technical Discipline. 15 years experience in the nuclear industry performing seismic analysis with a diverse multiple plant/organizational background and have seismic equipment qualification (IEEE 323 344). Ability to inspect equipment and systems in the industrial areas of nuclear power plant. Availability for Shift Work during plant outages and generation challenges. Current experience and expertise in performing seismic/structural analysis at a nuclear plant. Must meet Nuclear's requirements for Unescorted Plant Access. DESIRED: Five years experience in Nuclear Power Plant Engineering. Experience in one or more of the following programmatic disciplines: Seismic Equipment Qualification using SQURTS; Project Engineering Experience, Experience with the structural analysis program, GT STRUDL, Training and experience as a Seismic Capability Engineer using SQUG. Professional engineering license.
