PURPOSE OF POSITION: To provide a safe recreational environment for guests of the waterpark and ensure guests follow all rules and regulations.

Essential Functions

  • Enforce all rules and
    regulations.
  • Provide needed supervision
    to prevent accidents.
  • Initiate emergency
    procedures if accident prevention fails.
  • Administer proper first
    aid.
  • Responsible for the care
    and maintenance of issued equipment.
  • Keep the aquatics area
    free of dangerous debris.
  • Immediately report needed
    repairs to the Head Lifeguard.
  • Provide information to
    guests regarding hotel information and events.
  • Represent the hotel in a
    favorable image.
  • Perform related duties as
    assigned by the Head Lifeguard.
    These duties include general housekeeping and thoroughly cleaning
    the facilities, as well as various other jobs.
  • Inspect rescue equipment,
    telephone, radio, and first aid kit daily, restocking kit as necessary.
  • Perform alert,
    preventative lifeguarding.
  • Keep locker rooms clean
    and neat at all times. Paper and
    litter must be picked up immediately.
  • Assist with the closing of
    the facility.
  • Any other duties as
    assigned.

Manditory Job Requirements



  • At least 16 years of age
  • Good decision making
    skills
  • Current American Red
    Cross, StarGuard, YMCA, Milwaukee County Certification in Lifeguard
    Training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and Community First Aid and
    Safety or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of
    Waterpark Training and Orientation.
  • Ability to supervise activities
    of other people, give directions, and enforce rules and regulations.
  • Current American Red Cross
    Lifeguarding Certification or equivalent.
  • Current American Red Cross
    CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification or equivalent.
  • Current American Red Cross
    Community First Aid and Safety Certification or equivalent.
