Overview

The Transportation and Logistics Analyst will be responsible forall in transit inventory, domestic and international transportation as it relates to trade and sample products inclusive of customs and trade compliance programs. The Analyst willdevelop and manage the import/export compliance programs and policies to ensure compliance with all applicable export and import laws, statues and regulations.

The primary responsibilities of the Transportation and Logistics Analyst will include managing the transportation of finished product, bulk product and API to Salix CMO’s, 3PL’s and customers, developing and maintaining a working knowledge of international and domestic transportation regulations, developinginternal programs and policies, tracking shipments and managing customs clearance processes, maintaining accurate records of transportation and monitoring transportation costs.

The Analyst will also assist in the monitoring of vendors, act as a point of contact for customs, maintain necessary registrations to support import and export activities, as well as interact with external consultants and trade brokers as required.

Responsibilities / Qualifications

We seek a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Business,Supply Chain Management,International Logistics or a scientific discipline and a minimum of 3-7 years of pharmaceutical supply chain and logistics experience. US Customs compliance work experience and/or US Customs Broker Professional certification is highly preferred.

The successful candidate must have a working knowledge ofU.S. Customs and Border protection regulations including knowledge of customs valuation, classification under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the U.S.,Inco-terms, NAFTA and record keeping requirements. Extensive experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Access) is required.

The candidate must have strong interpersonal, teamwork, organizational, workload planning, as well as exemplary written and oral communication skills.

The position requires the flexibility to travel 0%-15%.
