Job Title GIS SPECIALIST 4

Location Massachusetts - Cambridge
Job Description Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years experience with FEMA floodplain mapping including the Map Modernization or RiskMAP program. Candidate should also be a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM). Experience in task management is required. Particular tasks including riverine delineation, coastal delineation, FIS development, DFIRM development, CHAMP, Hec-GeoRAS, ArcHydro, ArcGIS 3D and Spatial Analyst.

As a member of this team, you would contribute to CDM Smith's mission by: Playing a key role in, and possibly leading small (i.e.< $25,000) GIS needs assessments or other GIS consulting activities such as strategic plans, upgrade evaluations, etc. Leading group and individual discussions with clients to gather data Evaluating requirements and developing conceptual designs for systems and applications that will address requirements Supporting business process modeling efforts Assisting with hardware/software recommendations and specifications, and developing pricing for and/or ordering hardware and software Possibly assisting with the development of hardware and/or software testing algorithms, and performing testing Conceptualizing and designing moderately complex databases, including designs that incorporate spatial data Reviewing data sources for project activities of moderate complexity and recommending approaches for data conversion, migration/manipulation, quality control, quality assurance, etc. (for review by others) Developing conceptual designs for applications or performing coding for portions of applications, or for simple applications in their entirety Possibly duplicating and modifying existing applications for new clients, particularly browser-based applications Possibly developing application testing plans and testing applications Supporting end users for specific applications Training CDM Smith staff and clients, primarily in one-on-one situations Possibly managing small to medium (
