Thorek Memorial Hospital, a 218-bed independent not-for-profit community hospital located in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood, is looking for a Chief Medical Officer/Medical Director. Candidates should have three to five years of medical administration and/or medical staff leadership experience in an acute care hospital or related health care organization. A current Illinois medical license is required. Board certification and an MHA or related advanced degree is preferred.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Medical Director will plan, coordinate and oversee the medical affairs of the organization. This individual is responsible for aligning medical staff and organizational goals, and will ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Another responsibility is to work closely with medical and management staff on quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. The Medical Director must have excellent technical, interpersonal and leadership skills to work effectively with medical staff, senior leadership, patients and community organizations.
