Desktop Support Technician

Job Description

• Install and configure server hardware
• Administer tape management and library systems
• Manage physical site activities, maintenance, and Vendor escorts
• Analyze and manage overall physical security compliance
• Install, configure, and maintain remote access and terminal servers
• Manage shifts on-shore and off-shore. Make available 24/7/365 coverage for DC Ops services.
• Provide Hands & Feet assistance with server-side networking issues
• Provide Hands & Feet assistance with server hardware issues
• Provide Hands & Feet assistance with storage hardware issues
• Provide Hands & Feet assistance with BUR hardware issues
• Manage Vendor spares lockers
• Monitor BUR system jobs per process
• Manage and provide IP addresses, power, rack, and configuration services
• Tour the Data Center for error lights
• Manage internal Vendor through facilities activities - electrical maintenance, drills, generator testing, floor re-configuration

• Shift hours are 7PM - 7AM on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Saturday alternates every other week so that on 1stweek, candidate works 3 days (Wed, Thurs, Fri) and the next week candidate works 4 days (Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat).
• The team consists of 4 operations personnel.
• 2 Day Shifts (7AM-7PM) and 2 Night Shifts (7PM - 7AM) personnel with 1 floater who takes shifts for people who are sick or on vacation.
