Job Responsibilities
In this position the Nurse Practitioner will primarily perform comprehensive health assessments including obtaining complete health histories, accurate physical examinations, and administering treatment plans in collaboration with the practicing Physician and healthcare team. The NP Nurse Practitioner will also be responsible for initiating treatment for patient with commonly occurring health problems, which lie within the nurse specialists scope of practice.

Other specific responsibilities for the NP Nurse Practitioner will also include:
- Order/Perform selected diagnostic test and procedures as indicated by the patients condition
- Prescribes approved medications as outlined by the state regulatory acts
- Instructing individuals and/or families about health or defined health problems, as well as communicating plan of care, while maintaining privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
- Maintaining a clean, safe and professional environment while performing test, treatments, and procedures

Requirements
In order to be considered for the Nurse Practitioner position, candidates are required to have a Master degree in Nursing with advanced skills in physical assessment. They must also have valid license to practice and use the title of Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Practice Nurse within the state. In addition, the NP must also have their current CPR/BCLS certification
Other Requirements For The Nurse Practitioner Include
- Possess advanced certifications as required by clinical practice area/client
- At least 1 year of current experience within the last three years in a clinical setting
- Strong Interpersonal and communication skills and a caring/professional bedside manor
- Prescriptive authority preferred; DEA number
- American Nurses Association (ANA) Certification desirable
- A strong commitment to quality patient care
