Example Of Duties
Responsible for all functions necessary to perform systems analysis and application development during the planning, design, development, implementation, testing, coordination and maintenance of computer and information technology systems; including but not limited to AWWU's Water Information Management System (WIMS), WIMS interface to SCADA, Labworks, Labworks interface to SCADA, WorkTech Time, DBNews, OrgPublisher, Linko, and PeopleSoft DMS and check printing processes. Position will utilize the most technologically advanced hardware and software development systems available to perform functions.
Ability to ensure that the Treatment Division software applications and servers are up and functioning properly. Supports the Treatment division's process Business Intelligence and reporting tool and the Treatment Water Quality Laboratory Information Managements System (LIMS).Using accepted standards, procedures, and techniques; acts as Technical lead in all phases of application development and support. Support of the Finance and HR divisions for software that is part of payroll processing, electronic timecards, and the electronic org chart. Designs, analyzes, implements, and maintains software system front end and backend applications utilizing Microsoft, Oracle, and other development platforms and relational databases. Ability to prepares technical project specifications, request for proposals to acquire vendor hardware and software s services and works with contractors during implementation. Participates in proposal evaluations Develops project plans and system flow charts that include identification of task start and end dates, dependencies and priorities. Monitor schedule s and takes corrective action. Produces written instruction, memos and documentation that effectively communicate content and intent of the document. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and accurately and exchange information and ideas through oral communication to accomplish objectives.
Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Special Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and four years programming or analyst experience, one of which must have been at the Technology Analystlevel with the Municipality of Anchorage, or the equivalent elsewhere.
Substitution: Additional applicable Programming/Analyst experience may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis.
