MLT: Associate degree in science required. Board of Registry MLT (ASCP) certificate required or obtained within 6 months of hire. Membership and active participation in professional organization desirable. Previous experience is preferred.
MT/MLS:Bachelor degree in science required. Board of Registry MT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire. Membership and active participation in professional organization is desirable. Previous experience is preferred.
This position reports to the Laboratory Manager and is responsible for: MLT: Performing all routine and complex Lab tests. With adequate orientation and supervision, performs more complex lab tests. Confirms and verifies results using knowledge of techniques, principles and instruments. Correlates and interpret results based on knowledge of physiological conditions. Monitors Q.A. procedures within present parameters. Recognizes and solves problems using skills and technical knowledge. MT/MLS: Performing all routine and complex lab tests. Confirms and verifies results using knowledge of techniques, principles and instruments. Correlates and interprets results based on knowledge of physiological conditions. Recognizes problems, identifies causes and determines solution where no present criteria are available. Monitors Q.A. problems. Evaluates and implements new methods and instruments.
