Position Description
This position reports to the Major Projects Engineering manager. The Engineering supervisor is responsible for all facets associated with discipline specific engineering required to perform major projects at a nuclear site. This position will provide Civil Engineering supervisory oversight for engineering in a project team and project funded environment.
Manage a diverse group of engineering and technical staff to provide major project design solutions to resolve plant operational challenges and equipment obsolescence issues.
Provide oversight to ensure that project teams are successfully resourced to ensure engineering project milestones are achieved that support project schedules. This includes providing support to define requirements and specifications as well as providing oversight for outsourced engineering services.
Ensure coordination of design inputs from the plant systems and component engineering organizations, operational and maintenance considerations to facilitate optimal design solutions.
Provide expertise to recognize and resolve complex engineering/technical problems and also recognize when additional expertise or technical experience is required.
Ensure appropriate engineering rigor is applied to designs such that applicable code and regulatory requirements are met.
Provide support and leadership to meet site programmatic requirements for organizations such as PIP program requirements, self-assessments, job observations, training, etc.
DutiesRequired Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university, and eight years of experience in an operating nuclear station or related role
Experience in a modification or project oriented
Must be able to gain nuclear plant access and security clearance for the position plus significant Nuclear Experience.Desired Qualifications
Registered Professional Engineer
Previous supervisory experience in a permanent or temporary role
Self-motivated and able to motivate organization to complete activities with minimal management involvement
Experience with outsourcing services
