About This JobDuties And Responsibilities

This position will function as Construction Manager performing construction management on a local military installation. Experience with Construction in a DOD or Federal Environment with Commissary / Grocery Store construction experience.

Construction Manager is responsible for coordination of all communications between the contractor and government team. This position will provide daily inspection and oversight of the contractor's work in accordance with government design drawings, specifications and criteria and national, state and local codes, regulations and authorities.

Processing and routing of RFI's, Submittals, and change orders.

Review of applications for payment and schedules, daily construction observations and inspection for quality assurance and compliance.

Maintenance of project-related data hosted on Website

Duties

Qualifications

Must have an accredited degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering required

Must have a minimum 5 years of practical field experience in project management, or contract administration.

An additional 5 years of Construction, Architectural, and/ or Engineering related experience, may reduce requirement of a degree.

Must have experience in vertical and horizontal construction, preferably on major federal construction projects.

Must be assertive, possess excellent communications skills, be technically competent in construction practices, be computer literate in Windows Office applications, and be familiar with CPM scheduling, RS Means estimating procedures, and OSHA Safety Regulations.

Must be capable of verifying that construction work has been completed in compliance with contract requirements, maintaining daily record files in a computer-based system, conducting meetings with contractor and government representatives, and preparing minutes and lists of required actions.

Must possess previous construction experience, demonstrate strong written /oral communication skills, and be proficient with MS Office apps/computer skills.

4-year degree in engineering or construction-related field, or equivalent construction-related work experience preferred.

As well as 8 to 12 years of experience in field construction is required.

Experience in the Grocery Store/Commissary industry is required!
