  • About This JobResponsibilities

    Our client is looking for an Environmental Specialist to coordinate and ensure company programs and projects are in compliance with federal, state and local environmental regulations. Promote corporate environmental policy by educating and assisting employees to seek innovative ways to ensure the environmental compliance of their operations. Coordinate environmental permitting activities. Develop and conduct environmental compliance training. Inspect and provide advice on operations, construction, procedures, records and training to ensure compliance with environment requirements. Provide regulatory interpretations for new and existing environmental regulations. Coordinate and develop compliance plan for implementing regulatory changes. Prepare and coordinate reports/registration information to required regulatory agencies. Conduct analysis, prepare position papers and prepare compliance manuals on regulatory issues/programs. Utilize electronic databases to analyze and monitor company compliance. Obtain environmental permits and clearances from federal, state and local regulatory agencies including Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), US Army Corps of Engineers, US Fish and Wildlife Service, US EPA, tribal agencies, State Historic Preservations Offices, and state departments of environmental protection (WV, OH, PA). Successful candidate will serve as environmental technical contact for capital projects and O&M projects.

    Duties

    Qualifications

    High School Diploma or GED

    Must have knowledge of financial concepts

    Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

    Effective verbal and written communication

    Strong analytical and problem solving skills

    Strong computer skills

    Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making

    Linear project permitting preferred.
