About This JobDescription
Looking for a Mechanical engineer that is capable of performing in a leadership role as a lead test engineer for a family of engineering change packages associated with main generator replacement, high pressure turbine upgrade, & a measurement uncertainty recapture up-rate. Learn quickly & have prior nuclear experience including mechanical flow diagrams, piping drawings, general arrangement drawings, Updated Final Safety Analysis Report, & Technical Specifications for nuclear plants. Provide leadership in both providing oversight for a vendor providing developing test plans & procedures, & for in-house development & management of test plans & procedures. Studies & cost/benefit analysis of solutions & determines appropriate procurement specifications for services & equipment associated with nuclear station engineering change packages. Accomplishment of team goals through effective design, development, & implementation of large nuclear engineering changes. Interface with nuclear station staff & management to ensure successful design, development, & implementation of nuclear engineering changes.
Duties
Qualifications
4 year degree from accredited university in Mechanical Engineering.
Obtain unescorted access to nuclear facilities.
Development & management of testing for the implementation of engineering change packages associated with main generators & turbine.
Knowledge of nuclear station systems, processes, & procedures.
Written communications including technical writing skills.
Interpersonal skills & communication skills.
Computer skills in Microsoft Office products.
Organizational/planning skills with ability to set work priorities.
Work in a team setting & work within established organizational & work execution rules & processes.
Problem solving & analysis skills, including thermodynamics, fluid flow, & heat transfer.
Professional engineering license.
Nuclear station on-site experience.
Main Generator/Turbine upgrades, Measurement Uncertainty Recapture, or other power up-rate projects.
Performing thermal hydraulic performance analysis for secondary balance of plant.
During periods of project implementation will be subject to callouts & required to be available to respond as needed including weekends & holidays.
Projects will require occasional work in all areas of a nuclear generation facility with exposure to heat, cold, noise, & radiation.
