Job Description The Cardiovascular & Metabolic Diseases research group is committed to discovering innovative medicines to treat cardiovascular and metabolic disorders. We have an immediate opening for a Doctoral level scientist (Investigator) with Clinical experience in the areas of Diabetes or Metabolic research. The candidate will advance the treatment of metabolic diseases in support of unmet needs for these patients. As a member of CVM, the investigator will be responsible for:

  • Proposing and validating novel targets and initiating new projects.
  • Develop, manage and implement strategies for CVM drug development projects, collaborating with other functional groups in CVM and NIBR.
  • Provide and present analysis of results to support the generation of publications, patents, and regulatory submissions.
  • Manage BS/MS level scientists and be an integral member of CVM discovery teams.
    Minimum requirements The candidate is required to have a M.D. or MD/PhD with at least 8 years of relevant postdoctoral training in a clinical research organization or teaching hospital or related pharmaceutical clinical experience. Clinical training should be in one of the following areas: cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, metabolic syndrome, or type II diabetes The candidate should have strong leadership skills, a proven track-record of scientific achievement including quality publications, demonstrated ability to work in an interdisciplinary team setting, and experience supervising and training technical level staff. Broad scientific knowledge, strong work ethic, excellent oral and written communication is essential.
