Job Summary: 6 Month Contract

This position is responsible for investigating, planning, and implementing improvements in and/or additions to current products and manufacturing processes that directly affects safety, quality, and productivity with the end result of producing a better quality product more efficiently. Ensure compliance to Terumo’s quality policy, respond to customer complaints, perform audits, develop test methods, and/or write procedures for material characterization.

This position has the responsibility for basic aspects of the products manufactured/equipment at Terumo in terms of performance, safety, reliability, and quality. The work performed effects the work of section operators, quality assurance, the impression of our product on customers, and the overall cost savings to the Company.

Job Details

  • Maintain and follow TMC Quality System requirements; including but not limited to understanding of change control, validation, documentation practices, process control and design control requirements.
  • Plan and implement specified projects to be completed including organizing and leading members of various sections, planning and scheduling, coordinating resources (personnel, materials, time, money, suppliers), preparing proper documentation, etc.
  • Provide engineering expertise in the design, fabrication, development, installation, validation, and qualification of equipment/product which may include feasibility studies and/or proper documentation for justification of project and training to ensure proper operation of the equipment.
  • Provide assistance for planning and implementation of projects to develop, install, and qualify new processes for manufacturing new products or improving existing products / processes.
  • Research and implement cost reduction projects.
  • Implement and maintain plant wide calibration system and drawing control/document control system.
  • Gathering, tracking, and analyzing production data for meetings, business plan, etc. (yields/output/efficiencies).
  • Plan work schedules, expenditures, attend meetings, and prepare monthly reports are required.
  • Participates in project performance team meetings on behalf of the job unit in order to provide ideas, methods, or processes for unit/company performance improvement.
  • May be responsible for projects which include overseeing other departmental personnel in the implementation of new or modified equipment or processes.
  • May be necessary to coordinate the activities of support groups such as purchasing, scheduling, production, etc.

  • Position Requirements

    Typically requires a four year degree in an engineering discipline coupled with experience in a manufacturing environment designing, specifying, fabricating, assembling, validating, debugging machinery / product and manufacturing processes.

    Ability to create and work from engineering drawings and/or specs of particular engineering discipline.

    Good analytical and problem solving skills.

    Basic knowledge of statistical techniques/methods.

    General knowledge of drafting.

    Communicating skills both verbal and written.

    Ability to lead project work.

    Computer knowledge.

    Familiarity with some electronic/chemical equipment and tools in laboratory testing.

    Prefer appropriate certifications for particular engineering discipline.

    This position requires the ability to solve basic to moderately complex problems or implement solutions or processes that are novel to production processes and engineering solutions.

    Incumbent is required to respond to challenging engineering situations and production issues.
