Houston, TX - Engineer IV - Water/Wastewater

AECOM Environment is seeking a talented individual to be an Engineer IV for Water/Wastewater in our Houston office. The selected candidate will report to an assigned Section Manager and work under their direction. Report writing, research, administrative tasks, permitting, and compliance assessments make up the majority of the work assignments. The selected candidate must be capable of understanding technical work requirements with minimal explanation having previously developed a substantial technical base of knowledge from formal schooling and practical application.
The selected candidate may be required to travel periodically and the candidate's assignment will involve site visits and facility assessments where they may be the only AECOM employee present. The candidate will need to be able to make responsible decisions in the field with direction by the Program, Project or Section Manager. An understanding of budgetary controls would be helpful. In addition, the candidate will need to be able to interact with the client, when necessary.

Qualifications

Advanced engineering degree preferred, in a relevant technical discipline with 8+ years preferred technical related experience.

Ability to eventually receive registration as a Texas Professional Geologist/Professional Engineer, or receive license or certifications is a plus.

Demonstrated project background in water resources, water and wastewater treatment, and process optimization.

Experience in the oil and gas industry a plus

Very strong report writing skills along with a good understanding of local, state, and federal compliance regulations are a must.

Familiar with water quality issues including the Clean Water Act, TMDL, NPDES, stormwater regulations, stormwater pollution prevention plans, spill control and countermeasure plans, facility response plans, point and non-point contamination sourcing and watershed planning.

Understand CWA rules and requirements for compliance and permitting.

Experience with environmental site assessments and audit a plus.

Capable of coordinating project activities with clients and project teams.

Complete projects on-time and within budgets.

Work efficiently within a team environment.
