Description

The Web Services Manager serves as a member of the Marketing team; provides leadership and coordinates the strategy, design, specification, marketing, deployment, and assessment of Web services in support of regional marketing and communications strategies. Under direction of the Regional Director of Marketing and in collaboration with Sutter Health Web Team, the Manager is responsible for developing the overall web site vision for Sutter East Bay Hospitals (SEBH) services and manages service development and implementation projects for affiliate and region web sites including user needs assessment, design and analysis, testing, marketing, implementation, and documentation.

Serving patients and their families in more than 100 Northern California cities and towns, Sutter Health doctors, hospitals and other health care service providers join resources and share expertise to advance health care quality and access. The Sutter Medical Network includes many of California's top-performing, highest quality physician organizations as measured annually by the Integrated Healthcare Organization. Sutter-affiliated hospitals are regional leaders in cardiac care, women's and children's services, cancer care, orthopedics and advanced patient safety technology.

The Sutter Health East Bay Region primarily serves the residents of Alameda and Contra Costa Counties - with a population of 2.5 million people. The region's physician delivery network includes the affiliated Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation with approximately 110 physicians and other providers and the Alta Bates Medical Group independent practice association with nearly 700 physicians and other providers.

Acute care hospitals serving the region include Alta Bates Summit Medical Center with campuses in Berkeley and Oakland; Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley; and Sutter Delta Medical Center in Antioch. The region also includes the freestanding Surgery Center of Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Oakland. Home health services are provided by Sutter VNA & Hospice which serves the entire Sutter Health network. The region is also home to Oakland-based Samuel Merritt University, a fully-accredited health sciences institution with over 1,000 students, offering degrees in nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, physician assistant and podiatric medicine.

Education

Bachelors degree in computer science, marketing and/or information science, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

Experience

Demonstrated experience in Web project management and ability to manage and oversee projects in a team environment, meet deadlines, and prioritize work in alignment with strategic and service goals of the library. Experience in managing Web redesigns and migrations. Experience in troubleshooting technical problems effectively and efficiently. HTML coding experience and experience in creating, editing and posting Internet content required.

Knowledge: Broad knowledge and understanding of best practices and new technology in Web design (site navigation, terminology, search engine optimization, standards) and Web services. Advanced technical knowledge and experience with computer hardware and software including networking and communication protocols, server and PC operating systems, microcomputer software applications, and Web clients. Advanced technical knowledge of and experience with Web standards and technologies and techniques relevant to libraries such as and including meta search engines (e.g. Google and Yahoo), Web Services, Portals, Blogs, RSS, XML, Unicode, and multi-lingual systems. Ability to initiate and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and managers. Ability to work harmoniously and as a team player, thrive in a team-based environment, and skill in fostering teamwork among others. Organizational skills required, including demonstrated ability to maintain a production schedule and adhere to multiple time lines. Aility to manage multiple projects concurrently. Microsoft Suite software program experience preferred. Excellent written communication skills, specifically writing for web sites, and ability to compose a variety of documents (correspondence, reports, policies, procedures, presentations). Excellent oral communication skills, specifically to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and to effectively present information in group settings. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences about complex technology and projects.
