USfalcon recognized as one of the fastest growing, privately held companies in the United States, is seeking a Tier III - Network Engineer to support Integrated Network Services for the Marine Corps Enterprise Network in Quantico, VA. The candidate will provide Network Engineering support of the CISCO, Juniper and other branded switches to include creating virtual local area networks (VLANs), securing port configuration, managing the configuration files; maintaining the network's integrity including installing new network switch infrastructure, troubleshooting and resolving network issues, as well as developing, applying and enforcing the MCNOSC procedures and policies for use of the Local Area Network.

This position is contingent upon award of contract.

Requirements

  • 7 years of directly related experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Professional level Certification (e.g. CCNP or JNCIS) or training within the PG technology scope , CISSP 8570 requirements: IAT III OR IAM III OR IASAE II OR CND-IS.
  • Final Secret security clearance.

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM).
  • Possess experience maintaining, operating, and defending a complex global network environment.
  • Have experience configuring, installing, monitoring, upgrading and maintaining information assurance equipment architectures and the networks that are protected by them.
  • Have an understanding of firewall architectures and how they impact the services passing through them.
  • Experience resolving operational issues involving routers, switches, VPNs, and firewalls in an enterprise environment.
  • Have expert level networking and design experience.
  • Have expert level routing and switching experience in a large enterprise, with experience in BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, Cisco IOS CATOS and VLAN.
  • Experience with VPN architectures.
  • Have an understanding of emerging technologies such as IPv6.

  • Duties

  • Provide switch management and capacity planning solutions.
  • Monitor and respond to complex technical control facility hardware and network switch operating systems software issues such as misconfigurations and upgrades.
  • Interface with network switch vendors support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
  • Analyze, design, test, install, document, and implement solutions in support of global converged network technologies.
  • Create VPNs on routers, firewalls, and bulk encryption devices.
  • Troubleshoot IP Sec, GRE and SSL VPNs.
  • Maintain, operate, and defend a complex global network environment.
  • Analyze, design, test, install, document, and implement solutions in support of global converged network technologies.
  • Configure, install, monitor, upgrade and maintain unified communications services.
  • Resolve operational issues involving routers, switches, VPNs, and firewalls in an enterprise environment.
  • Perform immediate troubleshooting as the situation dictates for any and all network outages as reported by users, sensors, and/or operational personnel.
  • Perform system maintenance on any systems requiring security updates, patching, and upgrading.
  • Troubleshoot layers 1-7 of the OSI model in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Create Remedy trouble tickets for any corrective action taken for daily checks.
  • Proactively utilize network monitoring tools to isolate events before service degradation occurs.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
