Bing Information Platform is creating a new team in Microsoft's New England Research and Development Center. This team will design and implement internet scale services that understand conversational speech and text. We will play a key role in natural user interfaces (NUI) across products like Windows 8, Windows Phone, Xbox Kinect, and Bing. This is a big bet for the company and to be successful, we must create customized, personalized experiences where the system understands you, what you want, and presents it to you naturally.

We are looking for a talented development lead to help build a team based in Cambridge. You will manage your team, provide technical leadership, write and test code, help define strategy, and collaborate with other teams. Your team will be doing cutting edge work that combines language understanding, machine learning, classification, and services, with a focus on the service components and data mining. We are a combined engineering org, so your team will be responsible for both the development and testing of your components, giving you end to end ownership.

Your design and engineering skills will be combined with scientists and linguists to create integrated solutions. No prior language processing experience is required, although a passion for technology, an interest in learning, and a history of strong team success are expected.

Essential Qualifications

8+ years of experience developing and shipping software
Strong knowledge of algorithms and experience with machine learning or natural language processing Substantial C/C/C++ product experience Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, mathematics, engineering or related field.

Desirable Qualifications

Experience with combined engineering, test frameworks and building test plans Experience with large scale service development and deployment Creative thinker with the ability to socialize and drive your ideas into the product
