Dermatology Tech I/Floater
Provides clinical support to the dermatologist with the patients' care, comfort, safety, and confidentiality as primary concerns. Duties include: Prepare patients' charts, forms, instruments, and other equipment as needed for patient care. Perform routine housekeeping duties. Keep rooms stocked with supplies and linens. Room patients, take detailed history of patients' problems, and have patient properly draped for the exam. Prepare set-up for surgical removal, scraping for diagnosis, or injection after assessment of problem. Take dictation (longhand) from doctor on patient's physical exam or present condition and treatment advised. Set up and assist physician with all procedures. Write prescriptions as need becomes apparent. Perform miscellaneous technical duties specific to Dermatology. Photograph lesions and label appropriately. Process physician's orders. Apply dressings when indicated.
Performs Dermatology Tech, Mohs Tech, Appointment Coordinator, Receptionist duties in the Dermatology department on a temporary 'fill-in' basis as assigned. Must be able to assume duties of assigned position, often with short notice, and perform tasks in a competent, friendly, and courteous manner, providing clinical support with the patient's care, comfort, safety, and confidentiality as primary concerns.
