The Polysomnographic Tech must be able to perform polysomnograms (PSG), multiple sleep latency tests (MSLT), maintenance wakefulness test (MWT), must acquire and maintain specialized technical skills and medical knowledge to render quality patient care. Each technologist is responsible for the safety and well being of his/her patients during testing. A polysomnographic technologist will start and remain in a trainee status until they can fulfill all of the job duties independently and are registered in polysomnography.
