The Surgical Physician Assistant provides health care services to patients under the direction and responsibility of the attending physicians and the Clinical Director of the Department of Surgery. While providing surgical assistance, follows the direction of the attending surgeon having responsibility for the surgical case.
Qualified candidates must have a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university preferred, and must have successfully completed a training program, accredited by the American Medical Association for Physician Assistants. Must have current Maryland State license from Board of Physician Quality Assurance; certification by the National Commission for Certification of the Physician Assistants at time of hire or within one year of initial employment; and ACLS.
