Due to our ongoing business relationship with the County of San Diego, OptumHealth Behavioral Solutions is seeking a Care Advocate. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking inbound calls on behalf of the San Diego Access and Crisis Line. This includes a high volume of calls related to crisis intervention, suicide prevention and substance abuse issues, as well as making outbound follow-up calls to ensure that callers have connected with recommended resources. The Access and Crisis LIne is a 24/7/365 telephonic, crisis center which serves the residents of San Diego for all of their behavioral health needs. In addition, the Care Advocate will review and respond to Treatment Authorization Requests for inpatient admissions from facilities throughout the County. Regular hours for this position are as follows.

Friday, Saturday 3:00pm - 11:30pm

Sunday, Monday 1:00pm - 9:30pm

The selected candidate will also have the opportunity to pick up additional shifts and the position offers full-time benefits.

Qualifications

  • California Licensed Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or Marriage or Family Counseling, or LicensedPh.D.,

    or an RN with 5 or more years of experience in Behavioral Health.- Licenses must be active and unrestricted- A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in the Behavioral Health field, including taking and responding to crisis calls.
  • Basic computer proficiencyAdditional Preferred Assets:- Bilingual in English/Spanish highly desired
  • Inpatient experience- Dual diagnosis experience with mental health and substance abuse
