Senior UNIX System Administrator - TRICARE - Plymouth, MN; Hartford, CT
Primary Responsibilities
Evaluates system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility
Analyze all aspects of the existing infrastructure and recommends modifications that will enhance system reliability, availability, serviceability and scalability
Work with teammates, clients and other teams to identify and address systems problems
Evaluate new developments and recommend infrastructure modifications
Provide in depth consultation to application teams on a variety of different applications
Assist in defining standards, guidelines, best practices and metrics
Participates in the development of business strategy
Develops and manages business plans to achieve objectives
Leads large, complex projects to achieve key business objectives
Solves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business
Translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
Requirements
4+ years experience with Solaris OS
Experience with Solaris Zones
2+ years experience with Veritas Cluster
HS Diploma/GED + 4 years Unix experience OR Bachelor's Degree
United States Citizenship
Ability to obtain favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense form SF86 NAC form SF86.

As a requirement of UnitedHealth Group's contract with the Department of Defense, this position requires U.S. citizenship and proof of favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense form SF86 http://www.opm.gov/forms/pdf_fill/sf86.pdf, (the National Agency Check or 'NAC'). Successful completion of the NAC process is a requirement for continued employment in this role. NAC processing will be initiated by our TRICARE Security Officer post-offer, and can take 3-6 months for a final decision communication from the Department of Defense. Candidates will be allowed to begin employment with UnitedHealth Group in this role based on an interim clearance, and final results will be communicated as they are received. Failure to obtain final NAC approval will result in termination from this role.
