Web Designer - E-Commerce

  • Do you have a passion for fashion? And experience in on-line design? Well the TJX Companies wants to talk to you ¬- Currently our TJX E-Commerce team is in search of a Web Designer for our fast-paced team. It's a great position for an individual willing to work with the Creative, Marketing and Site Management teams in a new startup atmosphere within the TJX Companies.

  • Job Summary

    The Designer is responsible for brainstorming creative concepts with the copywriter , developing original design concepts, executing designs based on established style guides, participating in visual design presentations, developing detailed design specs for production, and other design team members. Also assist the creative site team in executing other creative concepts and periodical photo shoots.

    Responsibilities

  • Design intuitive, engaging, and brand-consistent;
    weekly Home Pages, Content Slots and Emails, on-time, on-strategy, & on budget
  • Translate business requirements into concepts and elegant user interface design
  • Assists with photography studio on art direction and style
  • Must be able to iterate and sketch out ideas quickly
  • Complete all assigned work on time and regularly report project status to

  • Creative Director

  • Stay current on all industry trends through both internal and external exploration
  • Efficiently manage the time and fast paced workload for self and junior design team
  • Strong leadership skills - ability to work with Art Directors and mentor Junior Designers
  • Designs in a variety of styles and maintain consistently high standards of work that will enhance the TJX brands
  • Understands what a big idea is and delivers them consistently
  • Works productively and harmoniously as a teammate with other creatives
    project managers and production team, who share responsibility on a given project
  • Thinks and articulates both verbally and visually when working
    with/without other creatives
  • Continually develop design & presentation skills with assistance of Team and
    external resources
  • Develop leadership skills in order to help develop future design team growth

  • Requirements

  • 6+ years experience in comparable web design roles on large, eCom sites
  • Bachelor's degree required in design-related discipline: Graphic or Interface design
  • Strong conceptual thinking
  • Rock solid skills in graphic design, with an eye for typography, composition, layout, color, and a pixel-level attention to detail
  • Intimate knowledge of Creative Suite. Flash a plus.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, DHTML and CSS.
    (No coding required in this position.)
  • Must have a deep appreciation for clean, simple, usable interfaces
  • A solid understanding of designing intuitive site functionality, interaction, site architecture and navigation
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects, good time management skills and positive attitude
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills, can intelligently persuade others
  • Good natured and flexible
  • Passion for fashion
  • Work samples or link to portfolio REQUIRED to be considered
