Interior Designer

La-Z-Boy is one of the world's leading residential furniture producers; providing furniture for every room of the home. La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries has an opportunity for an Interior Designer in one of our independently owned locations. The In-Home Designer will assist clients in our Design Center as well as at the client's home to create and sell individual design solutions featuring La-Z-Boy products and services. The In-Home Designer will also strive to create long term customer relationships that will lead to increased sales and profitability.

Your Responsibilities Include

• Design and create and sell comfortable and functional environments that represent client's lifestyle, taste and budget
• Provide professional design consultation through the use of the La-Z-Boy In-Home Design program
• Drive top line sales through the use of La-Z-Boy sales methodology
• Meet established sales goals set forth by management

• Schedule professional home consultations to present customized room designs, including sample fabrics, furniture, tables and accessory recommendations as well as the benefits of a professional installation service
• Responsible to support design related functions in the store and maintain an up to date customized portfolio including before and after pictures of previous In-Home design projects.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Interior Design with one (1) to two (2) years experience strongly preferred or a minimum of five (5) years design experience in a comparable home furnishings role
  
• CIDA accreditation and/or ASID membership preferred
  
• Previous selling experience strongly preferred
  
• CAD training a plus
  
• Experience in using floor and space planning applications
  
• Knowledgeable of general principles of home décor, design and sales
  
• Excellent communication skills, customer service skills, and organizational skills
  
• Ability to effectively manage time and conflicting priorities
  
• Ability to work effectively and productively with others as a team
  
• Ability to work the schedule and hours dictated by business needs
  
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required
