Marketing Associate

The Marketing Associate is directly responsible for developing and executing a strategy to rapidly and affordably acquire customers through online channels. As a member of the marketing team, this person will be deeply involved in all online marketing decisions.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize paid advertising programs across a range of channels including search, affiliate, referral and social
• Proactively identify new opportunities that help the marketing team meet its monthly revenue and engagement goals
• Develop and implement an SEO strategy to strengthen the ranking and performance of thredup.com on all major search engines
• Partner with the development team to test different technical optimizations that scale the impact of our online marketing efforts
• Collaborate with the Social Media Manager on content and community engagement strategy
• Work closely with the design team to develop copy and design creative that drives conversion of web traffic
• Ensure a coherent customer experience from when the customer first hears about thredUP to when they make their first purchase

We are looking for a person who has a vision for how to scale our online marketing programs and who thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment. The ideal candidate will

• Have experience or knowledge of Google Analytics, affiliate marketing and SEM channels.
• Have a basic toolkit of quantitative skills that enables rigorous analysis of how we're acquiring customers online
• Be passionate about working at a startup and being an owner of our company
• A design background would be a huge plus, but a general aesthetic sensibility is probably enough (i.e. do you know good marketing when you see it? )
• Deeply believe that thredUP is capable of disrupting an industry and building a household brand. -- We do.
• 3-5 years experience working in an online marketing role in a fast-paced environment
