Position Description

Abstracts clinical information from a variety of medical records and assigns appropriate ICD 9 CM and/or CPT codes to patient records according to established procedures. Analyzes, enters and manipulates database, confirms appropriate DRG assignments. Knowledge in ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding required.

Minimum Requirements

• 3+ years work experience;
• Minimum 6 months medical coding and 6 months general clerical experience required;
• 10,000 Alpha Numeric and Numeric keying speed required.

Additional Knowledge & Skills

• Ability to abstract and apply complex E&M coding.
• Comprehensive knowledge of E&M Coding.
• Excellent overall knowledge of coding.
• Ability to be efficient and accurate in a production environment
