    The Legal practice provides or manages all legal advice and support to Accenture. We provide objective, focused, practical advice and solutions, based on an understanding of the law and Accenture's business. We work closely with each engagement team to find ways to maximize revenues and manage risk.

    As a member of the Enterprise Workforce, acting as a legal professional the individual will work with executives and external clients on a range of commercial and IT transactions, including outsourcing and consulting agreements across industries and governments.

    As a senior attorney/legal professional key responsibilities include reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a large number of complex client transactions within a corporate environment. Also responsible for advising senior company leadership on legal risks associated with transactions as well as managing and advising junior legal professionals in day-to-day business.

  • Key Responsibilities Include

  • Manage both in-house and outside legal resources
  • Oversee, counsel, guide, train and support contracting and junior contracting attorneys and, in some cases, other senior contracting attorneys
  • Stay abreast of legal developments affecting the company, its clients, and industries and synthesize the information to incorporate it into company's transactional practices
  • Educate senior company executives in regard to legal and risk management issues
  • Represent company's interests and interface directly with client counsel and negotiating teams
  • Strategize with senior company executives prior to client negotiations
  • Structure client transactions to be most advantageous from a legal and business perspective
  • Counsel, advise, and consult senior company executives based on accurate interpretation of contract documents and the facts of a business opportunity
  • Develop internal guidelines, toolkits, and packaged knowledge on various legal and business issues
  • Support, promote, and implement Legal Group initiatives

    Travel: Some travel, up to 20%

  • Education

    JD or equivalent work experience

    Work Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of legal transactional experience in consulting, systems integration, and/or outsourcing areas in roles with increasing responsibility, such experience should be in a law firm or in a fast-paced corporate legal/transaction group for a consulting, systems integration, and/or outsourcing services vendor
  • Experience negotiating Intellectual Property issues

  • Preferred Skill Requirements

  • Expertise in the areas of either Government procurement (State & Local, Federal & Provincial), or Health industry
  • Independently manage drafting transactional documents and correspondence
  • General understanding and appreciation of Intellectual Property issues as they apply to consulting, systems integration, and outsourcing transactions
  • Understand basic principles of Finance, Accounting, Marketing, and Management
