Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Provide field observations of the Contractor's activities to ensure that the project is built according to the plans and specifications. Produce code inspection reports with photos and a narrative. Email code inspection reports to the WHPacific office. Coordinate with the contractor to schedule inspections. Personal Protective equipment including safety glasses, vests, and hardhat will be provided for use and are required on construction sites. The candidate needs to provide their own steel toed shoes. A computer, printer and camera will be provided for use. Approved travel expenses will be reimbursed based on receipts. Occasional overnight stays at a hotel may be required for remote locations upon approval. Approved mileage will be reimbursed at current IRS mileage reimbursement rate based on logged miles.

A. Sub-Grade Inspection Includes

  • Verify proper soil conditions
  • Sub-grade plumbing
  • General punch list if necessary for re-inspection

  • B. Pre-placement Of Concrete Footing, Foundation And Slab Inspection Including

  • Grounding requirements 2) Steel reinforcement (placement and size verification)
  • Pre-placement forms
  • Post tensioning cable placement (where applicable)
  • General punch list if necessary for re-inspection

  • 1) Framing

  • Rough electric

  • 5) Insulation

  • General punch lists is necessary for re-inspection
  • Final Inspection includes
  • Finish mechanical, plumbing and electrical
  • Finish concrete
  • General punch lists is necessary for re-inspection

    Work locations are within the Navaho Nation in Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico.

  • Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Inspection Certification is required
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
  • Knowledge of the current IBC and NFPA codes is required.
  • Ability to speak & understand the Navajo language is required.

  • Physical Requirements

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to stand for long periods of time; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee works in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate. The noise level on the construction site is often loud. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to ten pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty pounds.
