The Behavioral Outcomes Assessor (Psychometrician) is responsible for the administration and scoring of psychological test batteries evaluating cognitive, behavioral, and emotional status under the direct supervision of a clinical psychologist for a Department of Defense funded suicide risk assessment study. They will have primary responsibility for uploading collected data to the Military Suicide Research Consortium's secure data server and to work with the Data Management and Statistical Analysis Core ensuring accuracy of entered data.
The study will pit several psychometrically sound suicide risk assessment measures against one another, to determine which tool or combination of tools optimally assesses the likelihood of future suicide-related indices in a large sample of military personnel. We will also test whether brief self-report measures perform as well or better than more comprehensive interview-based assessment approaches and if there is a benefit to combining the two assessment methods.
This is a suicide risk assessment study. A Behavioral Outcome Assessor's experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills and judgment dealing with sensitive populations who may or may not have suicidal thoughts and tendencies. Experience with military populations, familiarity with military terms and culture are highly desired.
DUTIES
- Responsible for initiating and carrying out the clinical protocol in collaboration with the
research team.
- Screen referred potential participants for inclusion in the study and carry out participant consent procedures
- Uploads data to secure data server
- Regularly communicates with study Principal Investigators, Study Coordinator, and Site Principal Investigator regarding study procedures and progress
- Ideal candidates must have strong assessment skills
- Experience in diagnostic interviewing, and administering standardized assessments
- Screen referred potential participants for inclusion in the study and carry out participant consent procedures

- Regularly communicates with study Principal Investigators, Study Coordinator, and Site Principal Investigator regarding study procedures and progress
