General Job Description

The Client Conversion Project Manager (PM) is responsible for managing client conversion to a complex, proprietary financial system enabled services. The position requires strong project management experience and exceptional communication skills. The PM will partner with cross functional internal and client teams to develop and implement a conversion strategy and plan to a successful business and system solution. The PM will have a strong sense of accountability and ownership over the “client experience”. The PM will also support internal business and IT projects.

Job Responsibilities

  • Champion client delivery, success and retention; manage conversion planning and implementation with a consideration of client capabilities, goals and objectives
  • Facilitate planning for a successful client transition through the use of communication and training strategies and plans and other change management tools
  • Conduct regular client project meetings to ensure adherence to project plan and milestones, facilitate timely issue resolution to ensure delivery of products and services is completed within client in agreed upon timeframes, with full accountability for end to end process
  • Work with Client Acquisition team to provide guidance to the client with respect to the tasks and client's role within the plan
  • Participate in and document customer interaction and solution design sessions; Support development of gap analysis and solution recommendations
  • Ensure timely and accurate generation of design documentation and client approval
  • Assist in post implementation activities such as reporting of performance, risks, and issues
  • Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.
  • Prepare project status reports and keep management and others informed of project status and related issues
  • Proactively manage issues and risks to schedule, scope and budget; work with project team to identify and implement corrective actions
  • Assess and respond to requests for changes from original specifications.
  • Coordinate integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.
  • Keep abreast of project management methods and techniques to assess trends.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business, or related field OR equivalent work experience in related field
  • Min. 5 years IT project management experience. Familiar with the standard systems development lifecycle and project management methodologies
  • External customer facing experience in managing data conversion/system implementation projects
  • Proven success in delivering projects within budget and specified timeframes, while ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Capacity to embrace change and quickly adapt to new situations, changes in direction and priorities
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Project experience with Agile or other project management methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to direct and manage multiple projects concurrently from beginning to end
  • Designation as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) preferred
  • Ability to manage all aspects of multifaceted information technology projects, involving development, technical services, and QA resources
  • Ability to work closely with stakeholders to define project requirements
  • Ability to consult with all levels of business stakeholders to determine project scope and objectives
  • Experienced building and managing project schedules with input from multiple IT and business functions based on durations and dependencies
  • Ability to determine goals, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of resources
  • Experienced in risk management and the facilitation of mitigation strategies with IT and business stakeholders
  • Ability to develop business processes that ensure developed application meets all project requirements, and develops and executes quality assurance test plans
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals and groups of managers and personnel in order to keep management and others informed of project status and related issues
