Position Summary

Provides maintenance, repair and replacement of heating, refrigeration, plumbing, air conditioning, and kitchen equipment.

Major Job Activities

  • Diagnose malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Recommend measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Responsible for maintaining, operating and troubleshooting the HVAC heating, ventilating, air conditioning, heat exchangers, chillers and air handling units that supply heating and cooling to the Site occupants.
  • Performs Preventive Maintenance on HVAC control and operating systems as scheduled in the Facilities Center System, including required calibrations.
  • Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines; such as, lockout tag out systems.
  • Operates various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions.
  • Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
  • Flexible in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.
  • Performs additional assignments or duties as assigned.

  • Material & Equipment Directly Used

    Utilizes various hand tools, schematics, test and diagnostic equipment.
    Personal computer, printer, calculator, FAX machine, copy machine and other general office equipment.

    Working Environment

    Work is in a general operational and office environment. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty and extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays. Duty location is subject to both extreme hot and cold weather conditions.

    Physical Activities

    Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting and working with or in areas where
    a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment
    (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing
    protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and published company work rules.

    Education/Certifications

    One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
    4 years of HVAC or related technical school preferred.

    Experience

    5 years HVAC experience with trade certifications; at least 2 years supervisory experience.
    EPA approved CFC certitification preferred.

    Skills

    Must be proficient in the use of personal computers using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and AutoCAD or AutoCAD Lite software applications.
    Clearance Level Required at Start Date Secret
