Position Summary
Requires the individual to have the ability to assess/identify environmental needs and risks and implement procedures and documentation to ensure compliance. Compliance includes permitting and plans. Must have the ability to write and implement storm water pollution prevention plans, spill prevention control and countermeasure plans, hazardous waste minimization plans, pollution prevention plans and any other site or customer requirements that might be necessary to ensure compliance. Industrial hygiene knowledge to include indoor air quality, sampling and issues concerning occupational health (such as but not limited to lead and asbestosis). Familiar with and has the ability to research any environmental regulatory issues (such as but not limited to air, water, storm water, waste, soil contamination, abatement, types of sampling, EPA limitations, recycling, hazardous material listings and any other necessary environmental issue). Must have an ability to communicate with headquarters and other personnel in the environmental field regarding any environmental issue that might arise.

Working Environment
Job assignments will involve work in out-of-door areas with exposure to extreme climatic conditions. Work will require lifting up to 35 lbs.; stooping; climbing; prolonged standing; prolonged sitting; and work in areas where a potential exist for exposure to physical, chemical, and biological agents. Personal Protective Equipment is required when applicable. Such equipment includes but is not limited to head; hand; foot; torso; respiratory; vision, and hearing protection.
Physical Activities
Work may require lifting up to 50 lbs., stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical dangers and chemical or hazardous agents. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and published work rules.
Education/Certifications
One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
BA/BS in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Environmental Management and or any other related discipline. Under certain circumstances education combined with education will be accepted.
Experience
Five to eight years experience to include environmental compliance, ISO experience, and hazardous waste management and pollution prevention, knowledge of EPA and DoD environmental regulations, including the OEBGD. Excellent communication and writing skills are also required along with a working knowledge of computer operations to include spreadsheet, database, word processing and presentation applications. A strong ability to work independent and as a member of a robust team. Excellent computer, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills required. Computer skills include a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
