This position has involvement with solid waste projects such as system planning studies, economic analysis, and design of other solid waste facilities. May serve as project discipline engineer and/or geologist on projects. Executes assignments requiring the use of advanced techniques, resulting in the development of new or improved processes, equipment and/or technological methods. Makes decisions and recommendations that have an effect on solid waste projects and programs. Responsible for performing engineering design on various solid waste projects. Prepares estimates and proposals.

The Consultant will also work to develop and implement positioning and persuasion strategies that further the goals of the strategic plan. This position will be responsible for the development and execution of new business for Burns & McDonnell Environmental. It is the expectation that the Consultant will generate revenue with commercial and government clients; acting as the project or program manager for a main client.

The Consultant needs to have experience in Solid Waste. Experience in other expertises such as environmental due diligence, multi-media compliance, RCRA Corrective Action, development of remediation strategies, air permitting, environmental program management, renewable energy, sediment or brownfield cleanup and re-development is a plus.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor''s degree in Geology or Engineering with at least 10 years of experience and licensed by multiple states. Desired candidates will have face-to-face experience for projects escalating above $1 million, with experience identifying opportunities and taking them through the sales process to closure. Local and regional knowledge and relationships with key industrial/commercial clients within the industry is a MUST. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to attract and retain clients and build backlog, revenue, profit, direct labor and ROI over time. This individual must also have program and project management capabilities and be able to effectively balance direct and indirect utilization rates. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are required to develop and maintain relationships. Strong analytical and problem solving skills are a must.
