This position is responsible for a wide range of academic assistance and is an integral part of the Student Success Program and the First Semester Experience/Learning Community Course. This position will assist with planning and implementing academic support programs as well as provide one-on-one and small group instruction in study skills, test taking and language skills. They will be asked to use various test reports to determine students strengths and weaknesses to help students develop a plan for success. This position actively supports an outcome-based learning centered culture through continued professional development for improvement of self and the college in keeping with the College's learning-centered values and goals.

Education

Master's Degree in Education with emphasis in Adult Education

Experience

2-3 years in Education,post secondary
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Principles of Adult Education study skills, testing taking and language skills
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS: Certification as a reading specialist
