PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION:Works independently providing technical leadership and insight to multi-disciplined, cross-functional project teams developing engineering designs, processes, and/or software. Responsible for developing product requirements and identifying critical requirements for product design qualification.

Core Job Responsibilities

Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

  • Provides strategic focus and technical leadership in area of expertise- Leads project teams designing products, processes and/or software- Recognized as a subject matter expert within the Division- Defines critical technical requirements for design qualification testing- Identifies and resolves technical issues to ensure feasibility of product development initiatives- Contributes to Abbott's intellectual property portfolio, submitting records of invention and patent disclosures. - Responsible performing assignments in accordance with AMO standards
    COMMENTS:May have up to 5 exempt and/or non-exempt reports
    POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY / SCOPE:Provides technical leadership to multi-disciplined, cross-functional project teams. May be project team leader. Supports teams in identifying and resolving the highest-risk technical problems to ensure technical feasibility of product development initiatives. Participates in the assessment of product performance in the customer application environment. May have direct and/or indirect reports, and typically reports to a manager. Involved in new product development. Responsibile for managing project/program expenses withing approved targets.
