Job Description

Job Summary: As the journeyman level position in this job category, The Senior Test Engineer works under the general direction of the Operations Director to provide technical support for production testing and related equipment. Typical tasks include: Working with production personnel to resolve issues uncovered during acceptance testing and equipment operation, ensuring hardware/software configuration control, maintaining production test equipment (PTE) documentation, attending design reviews and reviewing ATP new-releases/changes, working with the Calibration department to certify internal equipment and project management for design/construction/modification of production test stands.

Major Accountabilities

  • Works with production personnel to resolve test stand and data acquisition problems.
  • Ability to design, troubleshoot and support data acquisition systems.
  • Production Test Equipment t(PTE) configuration control of both hardware and software.
  • Ownership of PTE documentation (schematics, parts lists, PM procedures, critical spares lists, etc).
  • Project and budget management for all new-build or heavy-modification PTE projects.
  • Attends design reviews; reviews all ATP's for feasibility and impact to production test equipment.
  • Reviews and ensures PTE compliance to applicable customer and engineering requirements.

  • Job Requirements

    Physical Limitations: Work may require lifting of components weighing up to 50 lbs. Approximately 4-6 hours/day will be spent in active work, 2-4 hours/day sedentary work. Use of computer keyboard required. Limited travel required (5%). Flexible work hours may be required.

    Minimum Eduction Required: Position requires a degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Electrical engineering

    Minimum Experience Required

    Five (5) years of experience in a test support capacity. Lesser test experience acceptable in combination with aerospace hydraulic equipment design background.
