Description
Special Operations Forces (SOF) Analyst for a Regional Engagement Branch of a Theater Special Operations Command (TSOC). The analyst will be responsible for the development and coordination of Operations, Actions and Activities (OAA) in a selected region (North East Asia, South East Asia or South Asia). The position directly serves the TSOC Commander and staff, and is heavily focused on providing products designed to assist TSOC operations and actions with higher headquarters, national level organizations, and official components of U.S. forward presence through the Asia-Pacific Theater, including Ambassadorial Country Team Missions. Responsible for the development and operationalization of the Regional Country Action Plans, to include SOF capabilities support and programs in conjunction with the U.S. Chiefs of Mission, USPACOM, USSOCOM and other U.S. Government agencies. Responsible to research/develop/provide Flag Officer/General Officer level information papers; position papers; briefings; and talking points with regard to operational issues affecting Special Operations. Performs directorate liaison with national intelligence, operations, logistics, information, civil affairs, communications and policy representatives within the TSOC, USSOCOM and USPACOM.

Required Education
Bachelor's Degree, in addition to 10 years of experience. (Additional work experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
Required Experience/Skills
Former COL/LTC/CWO/SGM in Army Special Forces or equivalent in Navy SEALs. Must have an active TOP SECRET / SCI security clearance to be considered. Requires knowledge of tactical - operational- strategic plans, military operational art and the Joint Planning and Execution System (JOPES). Strong analytical and organizational skills are needed to handle multiple task/projects and to work independently. Effective written and oral communication skills are required to work well with all levels of staff and managers. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Ability to comprehensively grasp big picture expectations within everyday activities is essential.
Additional Desired Skills
Previous service and experience (post 9/11) in the USPACOM Area of Responsibility. Prior service and experience (post 9/11) with Special Operations and a Theater Special Operations Command. Foreign language skills relevant to the USPACOM AOR.
