The Intelligence Systems Business Unit of SAIC has a career opportunity for an Operations Research Analyst in Columbia, Maryland. This position requires a current and active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance for consideration.

Job Summary

The Operations Research Analyst will work in a team environment to analyze and resolve operational inconsistencies using mathematical and simulation models. The overall program provides information research, systems analysis, decision analysis, operations research, software evaluations, full life-cycle software development, and modeling and simulation. The classified government organization seeks formal quantitative analytical methods and techniques in support of the entire enterprise operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct analyses of management and operational problems.
  • Formulate mathematical and simulation models.
  • Apply statistical tests to validate information.
  • Perform validation and testing of models to ensure accuracy and determine the need for reformulation.
  • Prepare reports to define and evaluate a problem and provide possible solutions where necessary.
  • Design and evaluate operational models where limited data is available.

  • Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering or Management Science with 10+ years of related experience in the analyses of management/operational problems using Operations Research techniques. A Master's degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering or Management Science may be substituted for 2 years of experience.
  • 4+ years in the application of modeling and simulation of Decision Analysis problems.
  • 4+ years using at least five of the following tools; @RISK, EXTEND, EXCEL, ARENA, GAMS, VENSIM, SPLEX, EXTEND-SIM, SAS, NETICA, LOGICAL DECISIONS, SIAM, MATLAB or SPSS.

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Computer Network Operations, Information Assurance. and SIGINT.
