SAIC currently has an opportunity for a high Mid- to Senior-Level Project Manager focusing on Air Quality to join an expanding practice and work on some of the most important environmental projects in Southern California. This is a key position within an already successful organization and will support clients of SAIC's Energy, Environment & Infrastructure Solutions, working from our Pasadena, California office.

Responsibilities shall include managing and participating in environmental projects and marketing with relevant experience in Los Angeles County, Orange County, and/or San Diego. Areas of expertise shall include environmental permitting and planning for commercial, municipal, and/or federal clients focusing on Air Quality. Project work will include emission inventories, permitting, field audits, regulatory compliance review, greenhouse gas studies, implementation of air monitoring programs, air quality modeling impact evaluations, health risk assessments, analysis and implementation of pollution controls, compliance, and recycling for the City of LA.

Required Skills/Experience

Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Environmental, Chemical, Civil) or Sciences (Chemistry, Physics) or related field and 10-15 years of environmental consulting experience with focus on Air Quality, specializing in environmental impact assessment, permitting and compliance (including greenhouse gas regulations).

  • Must possess ability to work independently or as part of a team to address complex Air Quality issues
  • Able to help guide and manage tasks or projects with the support of junior staff
  • Some experience with Air Quality models (e.g., AERMOD, CALPUFF, etc.) and health risk assessment tools is required
  • Southern California project experience with local, regional, and state regulatory agencies and an understanding of Air Quality federal and state regulations
  • Experience with writing technical proposals in response to RFPs
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Possess a high level of computer competency, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project

  • Desired Skills/Experience

  • Masters degree desirable
  • Professional registration is highly desirable (PE, CPP, etc)
  • Experience in developing regional marketing plan for air quality services and successfully expanding practice area
  • Work experience with DoD, Industrial facilities, Port operations, or at a regulatory agency dealing with Air Quality compliance issues is highly desirable
  • Experience within other environmental fields such as hazardous material management, EPCRA/TRI, alternative fuels, pollution prevention, and/or experience with government environmental programs
