Lead Field Service Engineer (Job Number:300795)

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Candidate will perform network installation and troubleshooting as well as configure all network equipment, workstations, and printers in support of new network deployments and upgrades. He/She will troubleshoot LAN/WAN operations and provide appropriate support to identify and solve problems. Candidate will be expected to perform duties of technical lead for small and medium sized network deployments as required (up to 500 users). Domestic travel approximately 50% of the time will be required.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in Information Technology or a related discipline and eight (8) years of network engineering/administration experience are required. High school diploma or GED and twelve (12) years of experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree requirement. Must have well developed communication skills and be able to express thoughts and ideas clearly and concisely in both verbal and written format. Must be a team player, dedicated to program support, capable of multitasking and working several complex and diverse tasks with simultaneous or near simultaneous deadlines. He/She must be well organized, reliable, conscientious, and be capable of managing resources and schedules to meet deadlines for multiple simultaneous projects.

Required Skills

  • An active DoD Top Secret clearance is required. Must be SCI eligible
  • Must have a current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.
  • Must be familiar with configuration and troubleshooting of CISCO 6500 and 4500 and 3750 series switches, CISCO 2800/2900 and 3800/3900 series routers, HP Proliant and/or Dell PowerEdge Series servers, HP UPS, facility UPS, workstation imaging and fiber optic cabling plants.
  • Must have experience with RFC 1918 private networks, firewalls, routers, and switches.
  • Must have experience with server operating systems (Windows 2000, 2003 and/or 2008 server) and systems administration including server imaging, network configuration, Active Directory administration, and server hardware troubleshooting.
  • Must have experience with workstation imaging, operating system (Windows 2000/XP) support, user profile troubleshooting, network configuration, application configuration, hardware troubleshooting, network printer configuration and server print queue creation.
  • Must have intermediate to advanced level knowledge of configuring TACLANE KG-175 (E100 and Micro) encryption devices.

  • Desired Skills

  • CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP) and security related certifications.
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) (Server or Enterprise Administration) certification.
  • Experience with Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP).
  • Experience with classified networks and knowledge of Director of Central Intelligence Directive (DCID) 6/3 and DCID 6/9 requirements.

    SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Must have an active Top Secret clearance, and are SCI eligible. Candidate selected will be subject to a Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
