Job Description

This Mechanical Engineering Specialist position will report to the Engineering Manager for the SAIC Energy, Environmental and Infrastructure Oil, Gas and Chemicals Group in Tulsa OK. The successful candidate will assist in the production of detailed design packages related to process equipment, piping systems, associated process controls and electrical/power system(s) for green field and revamp projects in the Refining & Chemical Plant Industries. Responsible for managing execution of detail design package engineering production in accordance with applicable industry codes and standards to include equipment and piping specifications, piping stress analysis & material selection, P&ID's & process control, as well as coordination with client in a project team (Client-Contractor) environment. Technical knowledge of the Oil, Gas and Chemical industry & standards along with a solid understanding of the engineering, procurement & construction elements of project work is favored.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, especially Mechanical Engineering and 4+ years related experience.

  • PE License a plus.
  • Experience with refinery or chemical industry process unit design packages including: ASME Section VIII & ASME B31.3 design & analysis, piping flexibility utilizing stress analysis software & knowledge of vessel design software as well as Instrumentation and Electrical unit design packages is preferred.
  • Assist in preparing proposals and developing contracts.
  • Computer literacy including MS Word, Excel, Access.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
