Title: HR Specialist
Location: NAM-OH-Coshocton

General Responsibility

Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, performs all the activities of the Human Resources Department including staffing, affirmative action, EEOC compliance, employee assistance. Provide Human Resources services to all functions in the plant by serving as a consultant to plant management and employees. The position offers the opportunity for development and career growth within the HR function in a unionized facility. The incumbent in this position must be able to build strong relationships with their employees and have a customer-centered attitude.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Strong background in FMLA Administration
  • Recruitment of Hourly and Salaried staff as needed.
  • EEO and AAP Administrator for the Kraft-Coshocton Plant.
  • Works closely with Disability Case Manager for short-term disability and leaves of absences in the coordination of both salaried and hourly employees.
  • Insurance coordinator for all employees to ensure claims and coverage is handled properly by the insurance companies. Works with 3rdparty vendors to administer COBRA.
  • Tracks attendance records for all employees and issues disciplinary action when needed.
  • Maintains records for all internal and external training attended by Coshocton employees into the PES system.
  • Processes all tuition reimbursement claims and sends to corporate for payment.
  • Coordinates all Unemployment Compensation claims by managing all claims, and works closely with the third party administrator.

  • Education Required

    Bachelor's degree required. HR certification a PLUS!

    Specialized Job Knowledge Or Experience Required

  • Experience in manufacturing environment a plus. Prior experience in union environment would be an asset.
  • Two years experience in Human Resources field required.
  • Must possess effective communications skills and demonstrate the ability to manage multiple processes and projects.
  • Strong customer focused experience is necessary to be successful in this position.
  • Should have understanding of Employment Law, Safety, Compensation and other HR Generalist disciplines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience with SAP strongly preferred.
